وَمَا مَنَعَ ٱلنَّاسَ أَن يُؤۡمِنُوٓاْ إِذۡ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن تَأۡتِيَهُمۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ قُبُلٗا
Nothing prevents people from believing when guidance comes to them and from seeking forgiveness from their Lord except that the fate of the earlier nations should come to them, or that the punishment should come before their eyes. (Rowwad Translation)
Y lo que impide a la gente (de La Meca) creer una vez les ha llegado la guía (del Corán) es (su petición de ver repetida) la destrucción que sufrieron las generaciones precedentes que negaron la verdad o de ver el castigo (del que han sido advertidos) ante sus propios ojos[533]. Qu’est-ce donc qui empêche les hommes de croire quand la bonne direction (hudâ) leur est venue ? (Et qu’est-ce donc qui les empêche) d’implorer le pardon de leur Seigneur, sinon qu’ils attendent d’être exposés au même sort que les premiers (peuples), ou voir fondre sur eux le châtiment ? और जब लोगों के पास मार्गदर्शन आ गया, तो उन्हें ईमान लाने और अपने पालनहार से क्षमा याचना करने से केवल इस बात ने रोका कि उनको भी पहले लोगों जैसा मामला पेश आ जाए या यातना उनके सामने आ खड़ी हो। (Al-Umary)
当正道来临众人的时候，他们不信道，也不向他们的主求饶，那只是因为他们要等待（安拉将）古人的常道显现于他们，或眼见刑罚来临他们。 (Makin)
