حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغۡرِبَ ٱلشَّمۡسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغۡرُبُ فِي عَيۡنٍ حَمِئَةٖ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوۡمٗاۖ قُلۡنَا يَٰذَا ٱلۡقَرۡنَيۡنِ إِمَّآ أَن تُعَذِّبَ وَإِمَّآ أَن تَتَّخِذَ فِيهِمۡ حُسۡنٗا
until when he reached the far west, he found the sun setting in a dark body of water, and he found some people nearby. We said, “O Dhul-Qarnayn, either punish them or treat them with kindness.” (Rowwad Translation)
Cuando llegó a donde se pone el sol (al punto más lejano de la tierra en dirección al occidente), encontró que este(parecía) ocultarse (en el horizonte) en unas oscuras aguas cenagosas, y junto a ellas descubrió a un pueblo (incrédulo). Le inspiramos: «¡Oh, Dhul Qarnain!, o bien los castigas o bien adoptas con ellos una medida benévola». (Noor International)
jusqu’à ce qu’il ait atteint le couchant. Il vit alors que le soleil se couchait dans une source boueuse près de laquelle il trouva un peuple (qui vivait là). Nous dîmes : « Ô Dhul-Qarnayn, tu pourras ou sévir contre ces gens ou les traiter avec bonté. » (Noor International)
यहाँ तक कि जब वह सूर्यास्त के स्थान[30] तक पहुँचा, तो उसे पाया कि वह एक काले कीचड़ वाले जलस्रोत में डूब रहा है और उसके पास एक जाति को पाया। हमने कहा : ऐ ज़ुल-क़रनैन! या तो तू उन्हें यातना दे और या तो तू उनके साथ अच्छा व्यवहार कर। (Al-Umary)
直到他到达了日落之处，他觉得太阳是落在黑泥渊中，他在那黑泥渊旁发现一种人。我说：“左勒盖尔奈英啊！你或惩治他们，或善待他们。” (Makin)
