الآية السابقة
وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبٗا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And [remember] the Man of the Whale [i.e., Jonah] when he departed in anger[38], thinking that We would not take him to task. Then he cried out in the depths of darkness[39], “None has the right to be worshiped except You. Glory be to You! I have certainly done wrong”. (Rowwad Translation)
Y recuerda al del pez (Jonás)[610], cuando se alejó de su pueblo enojado (porque no creían en él) y no pensó en que lo castigaríamos por ello. Después Nos suplicó desde la oscuridad (del interior del animal) diciendo: «No hay más divinidad que Tú. ¡Gloria a ti! Ciertamente, he sido de los injustos». (Noor International)
Et Dhu-Nûn,[328] qui s’en alla dépité croyant pouvoir échapper à Nos rigueurs. Puis il appela dans les ténèbres : « Il n’est point d’autre divinité que Toi, gloire Te soit rendue, j’étais certes du nombre des injustes ! » (Noor International)
तथा मछली वाले[34] (की कहानी याद करो), जब वह ग़ुस्से से भरा हुआ चला गया[35] और उसने सोचा कि हम उसे तंगी में नहीं डालेंगे। अंततः उसने अंधेरों में पुकारा कि (ऐ अल्लाह!) तेरे सिवा कोई पूज्य नहीं, तू पवित्र है। निश्चय मैं ही अत्याचारियों में हो गया।[36] (Al-Umary)
（你应当叙述）左农，当时他曾愤愤不平地离去，他猜想我绝不约束他，他在重重黑暗中呼吁（说）：“除你之外，绝无应受崇拜者，我赞颂你超绝万物，我确是不义的。” (Makin)
