يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقَالُواْ لِإِخۡوَٰنِهِمۡ إِذَا ضَرَبُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَوۡ كَانُواْ غُزّٗى لَّوۡ كَانُواْ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُواْ وَمَا قُتِلُواْ لِيَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسۡرَةٗ فِي قُلُوبِهِمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ
O you who believe, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers who traveled through the land or engaged in battle, “If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed[72].” Allah makes that a cause of distress in their hearts. It is Allah Who gives life and causes death, and Allah is All-Seeing of what you do. (Rowwad Translation)
¡Oh, creyentes!, no seáis como quienes rechazan la verdad y decían acerca de los suyos (que habían perecido) al salir de viaje o a combatir: «Si se hubiesen quedado con nosotros, no habrían muerto ni los habrían matado». Al-lah hará que (esas palabras) sean un motivo de aflicción en sus corazones. Y Al-lah da la vida y la muerte y ve todo lo que hacéis. (Noor International)
Ô vous qui avez cru, ne soyez pas comme ceux qui ont mécru, et qui ont dit de leurs frères, partis en voyage ou en guerre : « S’ils étaient parmi nous, ils ne seraient pas morts et ne seraient pas tués. » Allah en fit ainsi un sujet de profond regret dans leurs cœurs. Car c’est Allah Qui fait vivre et mourir, et c’est Allah Qui Voit ce que vous faites. (Noor International)
ऐ ईमान वालो! तुम उन लोगों के समान न हो जाओ, जिन्होंने कुफ़्र किया और अपने भाइयों के बारे में जबकि वे यात्रा पर गए हों या जिहाद के लिए निकले यह कहने लगे कि : यदि वे हमारे पास रहते तो न मरते और न क़त्ल किए जाते। (ऐसी बात उनके दिल में इसलिए आती है) ताकि अल्लाह इसे उनके दिलों में संताप का कारण बना दे। तथा अल्लाह ही जीवित करता और मृत्यु देता है। और तुम जो कुछ करते हो, अल्लाह उसे देख रहा है। (Al-Umary)
信道的人们啊！你们不要像那些否认的人一样；当他们的同胞出门病故，或阵亡前线的时候，他们说：“假若他们同我们坐在家里，那么，他们不致于病故或阵亡。”（你们不要像他们那样说，）以便安拉使那成为他们心中的悔恨。安拉能使死人复活，能使活人死亡。安拉是明察他们的行为的。 (Makin)
