يَحۡسَبُونَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابَ لَمۡ يَذۡهَبُواْۖ وَإِن يَأۡتِ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ يَوَدُّواْ لَوۡ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ يَسۡـَٔلُونَ عَنۡ أَنۢبَآئِكُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ كَانُواْ فِيكُم مَّا قَٰتَلُوٓاْ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا
They think that the Confederates have not yet gone[19]. If the Confederates were to come again, they would wish that they were away in the desert with Bedouins, asking for news of you. Even if they were among you, they would hardly take part in the fight. (Rowwad Translation)
(Debido a su cobardía) piensan que las tribus aliadas (contra los creyentes) no se han retirado (del todo y que regresarán para seguir combatiendo). Y si regresaran, (los hipócritas)desearían estar en el desierto con los beduinos y preguntar desde allí por vuestras noticias. Y si estuvieran entre vosotros, apenas combatirían. (Noor International)
Ils s’imaginent que les coalisés ne sont pas partis. Mais si les coalisés revenaient, (ces mécréants) souhaiteraient se trouver parmi les nomades (du désert) demandant (de loin) de vos nouvelles. Et s’ils étaient parmi vous, ils ne combattraient que très peu (à vos côtés). (Noor International)
वे समझते हैं कि सैन्य दल (अभी) नहीं गए[15] हैं। और यदि सेनाएँ (दोबारा) आ जाएँ, तो वे चाहेंगे कि काश! वे देहातियों के साथ देहातों में चले जाते और (वहीं से) तुम्हारे समाचार मालूम करते रहते। और अगर वे तुम्हारे साथ होते भी, तो युद्ध में कम ही भाग लेते। (Al-Umary)
他们以为同盟军还没有撤退，如果同盟军卷土重来，他们将希望自己在沙漠中的游牧的阿拉伯人中间，并从那里探听你们的消息，假若他们与你们相处，他们只偶尔参加战斗。 (Makin)
