فَلَمَّا قَضَيۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ مَا دَلَّهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَوۡتِهِۦٓ إِلَّا دَآبَّةُ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ تَأۡكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُۥۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ ٱلۡجِنُّ أَن لَّوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡغَيۡبَ مَا لَبِثُواْ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡمُهِينِ
Then when We decreed Solomon’s death, nothing showed them that he was dead except a creature of the earth[8] eating away his staff[9]. When he fell down, the jinn realized that if they had truly known the unseen, they would not have remained in the debasing servitude[10]. (Rowwad Translation)
Y cuando decretamos la muerte (a Salomón,este permaneció muerto, sentado en su trono y apoyado en su bastón), lo único que hizo (que los yinn) se percatasen de su muerte fue que un insecto de la tierra carcomió su bastón (y el cuerpo de Salomón cayó desplomado al suelo). Entonces se evidenció que, si de verdad (los yinn) hubiesen tenido acceso al conocimiento absoluto que solo Al-lah posee, no habrían permanecido subyugados al castigo denigrante (de trabajar para Salomón durante ese tiempo). Quand Nous eûmes décidé sa mort, seules les (petites) bêtes de terre[416] leur indiquèrent qu’il était mort après qu’ils eurent rongé son bâton d’appui. Lorsqu’il s’écroula devant eux, les djinns se rendirent compte que s’ils avaient la science de l’Inconnaissable (ghayb), ils n’auraient pas supporté plus longtemps le supplice de l’avilissement. फिर जब हमने सुलैमान की मौत का निर्णय कर दिया, तो जिन्नों को उसकी मौत का पता एक घुन के सिवा किसी ने नहीं दिया, जो उसकी लाठी[11] को खा रहा था। फिर जब वह गिर गया, तो जिन्नों पर यह बात खुली कि यदि वे परोक्ष[12] का ज्ञान रखते, तो इस अपमानकारी यातना में पड़े न रहते। (Al-Umary)
我决定他死亡的时候，只有吃他的手杖的蛀虫，指示他们他已经死了。当他倒下去的时候，精灵们恍然大悟：假若他们能知幽玄，那么，他们未曾逗留在凌辱的刑罚中。 (Makin)
