أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَانُوٓاْ أَكۡثَرَ مِنۡهُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةٗ وَءَاثَارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
Have they not traveled through the land to see what was the end of those who came before them? They were more in number and far superior in strength, and more impressive in marks that they left behind in the land, but all what they had earned was of no avail to them. (Rowwad Translation)
¿Acaso (los idólatras de tu pueblo, ¡oh, Muhammad!) no recorren la tierra y observan cuál fue el final de quienes los precedieron? Eran más numerosos y fuertes que ellos y dejaron más vestigios (de su poder) sobre la tierra; mas de nada les sirvió todo lo que consiguieron. (Noor International)
N’ont-ils donc pas parcouru la terre pour voir quel fut le sort de ceux qui les ont précédés, qui leur étaient supérieurs en nombre, étaient bien plus forts qu’eux et ont laissé sur terre des vestiges bien plus importants ? Ce qu’ils avaient acquis ne leur aura servi à rien. (Noor International)
तो क्या वे धरती में चले-फिरे नहीं, ताकि देखते कि उन लोगों का परिणाम कैसा रहा, जो उनसे पहले गुज़र चुके हैं? वे (धन में) इनसे अधिक तथा शक्ति और धरती में (छोड़ी हुई) निशानियों[24] में अधिक बढ़कर थे। किंतु वे जो कुछ कमाते थे, वह उनके कुछ काम न आया। (Al-Umary)
难道他们没有在大地上旅行，因而视察前人的结局是怎样的吗？前人比他们势力更大，成绩更多；但前人所获得的，对于自己并没有什么裨益。 (Makin)
