وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا فِيٓ أَكِنَّةٖ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُونَآ إِلَيۡهِ وَفِيٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقۡرٞ وَمِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا وَبَيۡنِكَ حِجَابٞ فَٱعۡمَلۡ إِنَّنَا عَٰمِلُونَ
They say, “Our hearts are covered against what you are calling us to; there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you. So carry on [in your way], we will carry on [in our way].” (Rowwad Translation)
Y te dicen (los idólatras, ¡oh, Muhammad!): «Nuestros corazones están cerrados a lo que nos invitasy nuestros oídos están taponados; y entre tú y nosotros hay una barrera (y no podemos responder a tu llamada). Actúa, pues (según tu religión), que nosotros actuaremos según la nuestra». (Noor International)
Ils disent : «Nos cœurs sont recouverts d’un voile (qui les sépare) de ce à quoi tu nous appelles, nos oreilles sont frappées de surdité, et entre nous et toi il y a une barrière. Agis donc (comme bon te semble) car (pour notre part) nous agissons (à notre manière). » (Noor International)
तथा उन्होंने[1] कहा : हमारे दिल उससे पर्दों में हैं, जिसकी ओर आप हमें बुला रहे हैं तथा हमारे कानों में बोझ (बहरापन) है तथा हमारे और आपके बीच एक ओट है। अतः आप अपना काम करें और हम अपना काम कर रहे हैं। (Al-Umary)
他们说：“我们的心在蒙蔽中，不能了解你对我们的教导，我们的耳朵有重听；在我们和你之间有一道屏障。你干你的吧，我们必定要干我们的！” (Makin)
