الآية السابقة
فَإِن رَّجَعَكَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَآئِفَةٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَـٔۡذَنُوكَ لِلۡخُرُوجِ فَقُل لَّن تَخۡرُجُواْ مَعِيَ أَبَدٗا وَلَن تُقَٰتِلُواْ مَعِيَ عَدُوًّاۖ إِنَّكُمۡ رَضِيتُم بِٱلۡقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ فَٱقۡعُدُواْ مَعَ ٱلۡخَٰلِفِينَ
If Allah brings you back to a group of them and they ask your permission to go forth with you, say, “You will never go forth with me, nor will you ever fight an enemy with me. You were content to remain behind the first time, so now stay with those who remained behind[68].” (Rowwad Translation)
Y si, tras tu regreso (de Tabuk), un grupo de quienes no salieron a luchar te piden permiso para salir a combatir (en otra batalla), diles: «No saldréis nunca conmigo ni combatiréis conmigo al enemigo. Preferisteis quedaros la vez primera (en vuestros hogares); permaneced, pues, con quienes se quedan atrás». (Noor International)
Si Allah te ramène vers certains d’entre eux et que ceux-ci te demandent l’autorisation d’aller au combat, tu leur diras : « Vous ne sortirez jamais avec moi, ni ne combattrez un ennemi à mes côtés, car il vous a plu de rester (chez vous) la première fois. Eh bien restez encore avec ceux qui restent à l’arrière ! » (Noor International)
तो यदि अल्लाह आपको इन (मुनाफ़िक़ों) के किसी गिरोह की ओर वापस ले आए, फिर वे आपसे (युद्ध में) निकलने की अनुमति माँगें, तो आप कह दें : तुम मेरे साथ कभी नहीं निकलोगे और मेरे साथ मिलकर किसी शत्रु से नहीं लड़ोगे। निःसंदेह तुम प्रथम बार बैठे रहने पर प्रसन्न हुए, अतः पीछे रहने वालों के साथ बैठे रहो। (Al-Umary)
如果安拉使你转回去见到他们中的一伙人，而他们要求你允许他们出征，你就对他们说：“你们永远不要同我一道出征，你们绝不要同我们一道去作战；你们初次确已喜欢安坐家中，往后，你们就同留在后方的人们一起安坐家中吧！” (Makin)
